My Fifth Word!

I have finished designing my fifth word. I have looked for the word ‘rinses’ everywhere but i couldn’t find it in a medium that i hadn’t used before, so i chose it as the word that i would design my own font for.

I found this quite hard because i have never designed my own font before and my skills with illustrator are not to hot !

For inspiration on how my lettering was going to look visually i considered the connotations the word rinses has with it. I came up with things associated with water, pipes and guttering. Therefore i decided to design my typography based on pipes and house guttering to give relevence to my word.

My Fourth Word!

I found my fourth word at Hurstville train station. I was waiting for the train there and i looked down at the yellow line people are advised to stay behind and i saw the word “Nightsafe”. I have had alot of trouble trying to find the word night so i was sooooo releived when i found this stencil word.

My Third Word

I found my third word at Galleries Victoria in the city.

I was walking past an elevator and noticed that there was typography engraved into a mirror. The word says ‘there’ but i am going to use ‘the’ out of it for one of my words in my quote.

This photo was really difficult to take without my reflection taking over in the mirror and the text not being visible. So i ended up taking the photo on an angle and the image below is what i am going to use in my poster

I think this word will be really interesting because it is photographed on unique angle which will give the poster a nice effect.

My Second Word

I found my second word at the GreenWood Plaza in North Sydney.

the word ‘soaps;’ was written on a blackboard in chalk at the cosmetic shop ‘LUSH’.

The First Word

I found my first word for this assignment on a billboard at Redfern train station. The billboard read ” What Are You”. I photographed all the words and for my poster i am going to use ‘what’ out of it. 

 

This word is a printed word so therefore i cannot use it again.

Peter McGill Assessment #2

The Brief is to photograph ‘urban quotations’ from areas like Sydney, Gosford, and Wollongong.

 

My quote is ” The Night Rinses what the Day Soaps”

 

We can only photograph each type of word once. 

 

for example, once we photograph a print word we cannot use a printed word again.

 

We must also draw a map to show where each of our words were photographed and post them on this blog.
